Lightroom LR2/Mogrify

17th November 2009
I've been looking at how to get the best out of lightroom recently, really started to look at how I use it as I am really sure I'm not using it the best way possible.

One of the things I knew I was doing wrong was preparing jpg files for submission to exhibitions and competitions. I like to have an image with a single pixel wide grey border and then a black canvass for any unused area. I didn't know how to achieve tjis on LR, so I used to jump to Photoshop and make the export from there.

Well, I now am able to do exactly what I want, and more straight from lightroom using an extension or plug-in called LR2/Mogrify.

This plug in provides a series of post-process actions such as adding outer border, add inner border, graphical watermarks, text annotations, resize, background canvas colour, compress to file size, sharpenning, colour space and colour processing.

You simply choose the additional features from the export dialog in lightroom.
Brilliant, simple and so easy to use. The software is provided on a donation basis, so in order to keep this software upto date it would be good if you make a small donation if you find this useful.
